ESTN is an annual gathering of members from the Sport-Touring.Net (STN) web forum. Attendees come from all over the eastern US and Canada. All sport-touring enthusiasts are welcome whether you are a member at STN or not. The focus is on great riding during the day and socializing in the evenings. The official ESTN Info thread has lots of discussion about the event. ESTN is being held from September 26 - 28 (Friday thru Sunday) in Marlinton, WV. That weekend happens to coincide with the Marlinton Autumn Harvest Festival featuring the Roadkill Cook-off. Be sure to stop at the festival and sample some Roadkill (dishes made from animals commonly found as roadkill such as deer, possum, squirrel, etc). Schedule: Saturday: Enjoy an awesome day of WV twisty goodness (small group rides), followed by a group dinner (with prizes!) and lots more socializing and lie swapping into the wee hours. Sunday: Breakfast, goodbyes and more WV twisties on the long way home. Lodging: We are staying at the Marlinton
Motor Inn (MMI), located 3 miles north of Marlinton on route 219.
The MMI has a restaurant and bar on site. There are 30 rooms reserved
for ESTN. Our discounted rate is $64/night per room (two double beds,
all taxes included, double occupancy), so be sure to mention that you
are with the "Sport-Touring.Net" group when making your reservation.
Cost: Attendees are responsible for making their own lodging arrangements. An event fee of $25 per person (tentative) should cover a group dinner on Saturday night, an ESTN T-shirt, and a route/info packet. Registration: Registration will open (via an ESTN PayPal account) once the event fee is finalized. Routes: Here are four (tentative) routes, arranged like a four-leaf clover, to let you sample the best of WV: Northeast Route (349
miles) MotoRoads has lots of detailed info about PA, WV and OH roads for planning your own routes. Things To See and Do: Realizing that not everyone thinks 400 miles of twisty roads is a perfect day, here are links to some attractions in the area. It's hard to find a bad paved road in WV, so all manner of possibilities exist on how to go from point A to point B if you want to mix riding with being a tourist. Civl
